The All New Replicate App

The All New Replicate App

3+ years ago, we released the 1.0 version of the Replicate iPhone app. Since then, we’ve added an iPad and Android version. We have been blown away by the number of users over the years (10,000+).

Earlier this year, we set out to completely overhaul the app. The existing code served us well, but as the app grew, we knew that it was time go back to the drawing board.

We’ve come up with a completely new design that is much faster. If you’ve had issues with the app before, you’ll definitely want to try this update.

The iPhone, iPad, and Android apps all have updates waiting for you in the your App Store. Don’t worry, all your existing groups and journals are still there.

We are currently able to offer this app as a free tool to aid you on your disciplemaking journey. If you have found the app helpful, donations are appreciated. Click here to make a donation to Replicate to support the app as it grows to serve thousands of disciplemakers globally.

Are you one of the 10,000 people that are using the app? If not, you can download the app below for free to get started.

Hi Guys. I love the Replicate app. We’ve been using in a group of guys for our church. However, the new version has several glitches that are very frustrating to work with. Most of the glitches I have encountered have to do with posting journals, drafts not accessible, multiple posts showing up,etc. In fact, all of my previous posts don’t show up under the home tab anymore and when I posted a journal nothing tells you that the post is successful (when you tap the post button nothing happens and so you press it several times without realizing every tap is posting the journal to your group). It’s pretty frustrating to be honest. Hopefully you can fix ASAP.

  • Hi Paul, we’ve got a bug fix already submitted to Apple. Sorry for the trouble.

Thanks so much Rob. I really appreciate the response. We really love your program and what you’re doing. I’m about to read your book as well! Any idea on ETA for bug fixes? Thanks for all that you’re doing to build the body of Christ!

Hi Guys. I just downloaded the new update v2.0.1. There are still some of the same issues with the journals from before. Here is what I have found (on an iPhone 6):
I cannot scroll to read entire journal entries, either my own or others.
I cannot edit past journal entries of my own. I can only delete past journals.
When I highlight verses and then hit the create post button it takes up to 3 tries for the selected text to actually appear in the journal entry (I have to keep going back).
When I go to post my entry (from the reading plan part of the app)nothing tells me that it was posted. When I tap “post” on the screen nothing tells me that the journal was created. If I tap it numerous times it posts the journal on the “home” page multiple times but I have no idea unless I go and check.
In fact, if I want to check that the journal was posted (having no confirmation it was posted) I have to hit cancel and hope that the journal entry was actually posted. I hope that makes sense.
If I create a journal from the Home screen I do have this issue. When I hit “post” it takes me back to the Home screen. However, this means I cannot highlight scripture in my reading plan and then create a journal without having the issues noted above.

When I save a draft of a journal entry and try to go back to it there is nothing in the journal entry. It shows as saved in drafts but takes me to a blank journal page when I tap the saved draft.

Also, I have a friend using the app on an iPhone. When she tries to go to the scripture in her reading plan the app shuts down completely. She also downloaded the update and still has the same issues every time.
    Hope this feedback is helpful.
