FAMILY MINISTRY PROCESS
Align your Kids and Student Ministries with your church's disciple-making vision.

Why Family Ministry Matters
Your church is committed to making disciples. But your team is asking...
“How do we connect our Kids and Student ministries to our disciple-making vision?”
“How do we stop doing ministry the way we’ve always done it and build something more intentional?”
“How do we help parents disciple their kids without overwhelming them?”
For most churches, the gap isn’t passion - it’s alignment. The Family Ministry Process helps you close that gap by uniting your team, resourcing your families, and building a strategy that forms disciples from birth through high school.
5 Sessions, 5 Deliverables
Each session of the Family Ministry Process produces a practical resource your team can implement immediately—together, they form a comprehensive disciple-making strategy for the next generation.

Session 1
Evaluate where your current family ministry is helping - and where it’s holding you back.
Most churches have never asked whether their family ministry actually forms disciples. In this session, we’ll identify five shifts that move you from scattered programming to intentional disciple-making.
Deliverable: reTHINK Assessment
A personalized assessment for your Kids and Student Ministry teams that will help them reTHINK how they lead Family Ministry and identify the greatest opportunities and challenges for the church.

Session 2
Who are the families in your church - and how do they experience discipleship?
One-size-fits-all ministry won’t work. This session helps you understand the real family dynamics in your church so you can build a ministry that fits.
Deliverable: Family Portrait
A concise summary of your congregation’s family units - their demographics, felt needs, and discipleship perspectives, so your strategy reflects their real lives, not your assumptions.

Session 3
What would it look like to disciple kids from birth through high school - on purpose?
This session helps you design a clear, aligned discipleship roadmap that builds spiritual maturity over time. It connects your Kids and Student ministries into one cohesive plan.
Deliverable: Family Ministry Roadmap
A systematic plan for how your church will equip children from 0 to 18 through both intentional programming and practical partnerships with parents.

Session 4
How do we equip parents to lead their kids spiritually - without overwhelming them?
Most families want to disciple their kids, but few feel confident or equipped. Furthermore, churches don’t know how to partner with parents to help them disciple their children. In this session, you’ll experience a practical approach that makes spiritual leadership doable for any parent.
Deliverable: FamilyCircle Course
A 4-week interactive course that helps families build a discipleship plan that fits their current season. It’s practical, manageable, and designed for real life. The staff will also receive an ongoing partnership strategy they helps them walk alongside families through every season and life stage.

Session 5
How will you resource families?
Discipleship doesn’t follow a script. This session equips your team to provide ongoing resources that help families respond to real moments with spiritual intentionality.
Deliverable: Family Discipleship Toolkit
A curated, ready-to-use resource strategy that helps families stay supported through every season - providing practical tools for everyday spiritual conversations, questions, and challenges.

Session 3
What would it look like to disciple kids from birth through high school - on purpose?
This session helps you design a clear, aligned discipleship roadmap that builds spiritual maturity over time. It connects your Kids and Student ministries into one cohesive plan.
